Warner Bros. confirmed in an August 2026 earnings report that a second installment of Hogwarts Legacy is in active development. The report states the company "expects games to more meaningfully contribute to segment profitability going forward as our pipeline expands, including the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy."
No story details have been announced yet. The first game took place in the 1890s — a century before the Harry Potter novels — following a fifth-year student who discovers an ancient magic that sets them apart from other wizards.
Expectations point to a return to Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding Highlands. The original story left the protagonist's journey open-ended, and with the HBO television adaptation arriving this Christmas, the Wizarding World is entering its biggest resurgence since the books and films.
